Well, I definitely think I've improved since 2005!
This here would be my version of Set in his human form, back in the days when he spent all his time guarding Ra and fighting giant snakes and whatnot. Aside from the obvious changes in style, I changed up the background's perspective a little, added some Ancient Egyptian-inspired details to to the stonework, and changed the scenery. He also had a slight wardrobe change.
What I've learned in seven years:
* The magic of perspective.
* Better shading techniques.
* How to better render background scenery.
* Textures are your friend (the texture used here is from a photo I took myself).
* The proper metal for Ancient Egyptian weapons.

I like how the new one has more of a glow-y feeling to it, and his stance looks better, and the colors of his jewlry stands out more.
But I have to say that I really like the old one too. I love how you shaded in his muscle tone, and I like his stance as well. Plus the sky background is awesome!
