Times of Day - Sunset

Set, a.k.a. Dante Mephistos and a whole heck of a lot of variations of Set, is the third installment of my Times of Day series. Set was the bodyguard of Ra. When the royal barque containing Ra and his entourage descended into the Underworld at the end of the day, the serpent Apep would attack, hoping to hypnotize and devour all the gods on board. Fortunately for them, Apep was never able to hypnotize Seti, who took great pride in driving the serpent off with his spear.

Since Seti is connected to the sun god and the journey into the Underworld, I thought sunset would be the most appropriate time of day for him. Furthermore, he's a storm god, so his clouds are nice and gathering-storm-like. ^_^

I gotta say, Set was a little bastard to draw. It took me three tries to finally draw something that actually LOOKED like him! ><;; And, of course, Seti's never happy unless he's depicted perfectly...
