The Reading Lesson

Descarian was enjoying a quiet afternoon off by reading by the river when this lovely merlady decided to see what he was doing. This has led to a beautiful friendship.

The merfolk of Medan aren't illiterate, by the way. They simply have a very different writing system from the land-dwellers, and very few of them have ever learned the other's written language. Perhaps Yevira here will be the first to translate land literature into mer!
 
And for once, I've actually got a merperson for Mer-May!
